Smart Living Kitchen
Being ready to replace all aluminum siding and roof shingles, the homeowners wanted a complete architectural style transformation of their 1970’s colonial home. Based on their casual lifestyle and country style furnishings inside, we agreed upon cultivating the charm of a “French Country” style for the new façade that would meet their needs and budget best.
Based on the existing shape and massing of the home, Luminesio created the new architectural style by adding steep gable roofs laid directly over the existing hip roof, adding decorative wood pediments in the new roof peaks, by adding arched transom windows and rustic board and batten shutters to the sides of the windows in order to give more life.
The aluminum siding was replaced with fiber-cement lap siding in light soft color to complement the existing classic red brick, and the old garage door was replaced with a Coachman style steel door featuring an arch trim detailing. The newly incorporated porch is supported by the gracefully carved timbered columns and bordered by a copper shed roof. Stained glass entry doors complete the look and add to the overall charm.
The new identity designed by Luminesio for this home tastefully complements its surroundings and the family’s lifestyle all at once.
