Smarter Urban Future
The 1950’s non-descript ranch had been considered a teardown, but the homeowners decided, in the end, to instead add an entire second floor with a new architectural style. Noticing their busy lifestyle and the shape of the existing home, Luminesio recommended the “English Cottage” style to accomplish the perfect integration of lifestyle and beauty for their home transformation.
The new second floor included two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The primary bath is defined by elegant cathedral ceilings, oversized wall and floor marble panels to expand the essence of the room, a freestanding soaking tub adjacent to the frameless glass shower, and two undermount sinks with a complete vanity area. Matte black metal hardware and gold accents were also added in order to complete this timeless classic look.
The exterior was shaped by adding multiple gable roofs, asymmetrical locating of windows, and a variety of exterior materials. Arched windows, corbel brackets under roof soffits and window flower boxes, trellis over the new coachman garage door, and complementary colors for all exterior materials highlighted the storybook character of this new 2nd-floor addition and façade.
