The new owners of this Prairie style home desired to increase curb appeal and update the entire house.  Inspired from Frank Lloyd Wright’s Prairie architecture, Luminesio enhanced the style by replacing the old stucco with stucco board, detailing the surface of the balcony above the garage and sprucing up the living room windows and entry with rich brown painted trim.

 

In order to create an anchor for the floating balcony, we built out (on the left side of garage) the existing steel column as a stately Prairie pilaster. As an additional stylistic element white prairie-style grilles were incorporated in the front existing windows.

The front transformation was completed by replacing the existing garage door with a Carriage Style in a classically rich deep brown stain. The exterior design Luminesio provided allows the continuity of existing and new materials and finishes to lend into the harmony and cohesion of the home’s Prairie architectural style.
